The bug boy, Spencer, had quite a collection of bugs yesterday afternoon. The caterpillar was so gross. I found it in some weeds and had Spencer and Kai come look at it. I was poking it with a stick saying look how cool. Spencer in his quirky jiggy way, leaned over and picked it up and carried it around for awhile. He thought the caterpillar and grasshopper were a great combination. EWWW!!We have needed the seagulls to come and rescue our plants from the grasshoppers not the crickets. Never fear though Spencer, Kai, and their neighbor friend Jarom have been collecting grasshoppers and making them homes in our sandbox for the last month. It has helped our grasshopper problem on the plants, but the carcasses are not disappearing as fast. A few weeks ago my mom was here and she bought those fruit roll ups by the foot. The boys thought it would be great to feed the grasshopper fruit roll up. Their bug catchers had about 10 or 15 grasshoppers with one roll of the fruit that was red. I think they suffocated. My back porch looked like a grasshopper massacre had happened.

Oh my! Boys are SO different! Very cute how intregued they are though. The pictures are cool, but they still gave me the heebie-jeebies thinking of holding the insects! I bet you have many laughs with those cute boys of yours.
Oh......that is funny. The filing and the grasshopper masacre will go down as some of my favorites.
